Why not consider joining the Canning Volunteer Fire Department.

Here is a list of what we have to offer:

Training in just about any type of emergency situation you can think of like:

• Medical Calls,
• All different types of fires, house, vehicle, structure, woods
• Motor vehicle accidents
• Water rescue,
• Accident scene control.

This training is provided to you at no charge and you can train as much as you want.

You are given the opportunity to help protect and serve your family, neighbors, community and people you don't even know from harm and the ravages of fire and other emergencies.

We train weekly on Monday nights. Family is important to us at the Canning Volunteer Fire Department so we try to keep you only for a few hours once a week and on rare occasions weekend training.

We hold a regular monthly meeting for all members to attend to the business of the department.

Here are the catches, yes there is always a catch or two.

You must be willing to work odds hours like 3:00 am in the morning or even at supper time, drop everything you are doing to answer fire alarms with no given notice morning, noon or night; rain or shine and do it for 365 days of the year.

We will outfit you with excellent gear, train you and give you all the backup and support that will enable you to help in any emergency situation.

Oh yeah sorry there is no regular pay, benefits or vacation for doing this great service. The rewards to you is to help protect and serve your family, neighbors and community and people you don't even know from harm and the ravages of fire and related emergencies.
